While running yesterday I convinced myself that I should run 5 miles instead of the 3 mile which is my usual for that day. This sounded like a good idea at the time, after all I've run a couple of half Marathons in the past.... so this distance should be relatively easy...Right? Well to start, I haven't ran in the Florida heat for three months, I haven't ran longer than 3 miles in about the same time, plus I haven't been training this hard since about march.
Needless to say, I was struggling. I completed the 5 miles but was wrestling with that distance through the whole run. The lack of training resulted in frequent stops so I didn't over-heat. My legs were dead after the first mile anyways, so the rest of the run was no walk in the park. I often tell my friends who are getting started that they should keep running fun and not to over-do-it!
We are all competitive people by nature, whether it's against someone, something or against yourself. The goal to keeping it fun is to train in a slow progressing. The aches and pain that I felt was a sign that maybe I was training too frequently, adding too much intensity or adding to much millage at once. After the run I found wisdom and a new found respect for the millage. The message for the day is to keep it fun and be competitive on race day! :)

Running Life!
We can all remember a time of a complete utter breakdown. I know I can! Whether mentally, Spirituality or physically we've all been there at some point. This page is all about how (through running) we can over come any one of life's trials. Running is the perfect metaphor for life; for example...While running you may get tired, bleed, get shortness of breath or your mind is telling you to stop running completely.
We all face these emotions, distractions and feelings in real life. Have you ever heard the saying " It's not how you start the race but how you finish it", well its true! that we all face in life but like running a race there will be a finish line! There are awards at the end of each and every race. Everyday I challenge you to go out into the world with the idea that if we stay consistent with our jobs, family, or personal goals then and only then will we reap the benefits of all our hard-work.

Go out and Rule the Road & Your World!
Life's tests are sometimes painful! But its worth it in the end!

Go out and Rule the Road & Your World!
Lately I've been running a total of 2-3 miles a day, about 5 days a week.
My goal is to run Boston Marathon before I die. (Hence the name of the blog) This is page is for anyone who wants to get more insight on the Racing, Running Gear, Nutrition, or Basic Training. As of now my short-term goal is to run a 1:30 Half- Marathon.
I've ran two previous half-marathons last year and my fastest time was 1:47. I did some slacking the last 6 months and really have been focusing on fitness and personal growth. I quit smoking and drinking on this past Saturday... Thank God for coffee! Here is my training plan for then next two weeks:
